Originaly opened by Dipson Theatres in 1950 as the areas first suburban theatre, the PLAZA was transformed from a large single screen showplace to a four screen multiplex in 1980.
The theatre has been operated by a number of regional movie chains in its past, including Dipson Theatres of Batavia, NY, Cinemette Theatres of Pittsburgh, PA, Cinema World Theatres of Pittsburgh, PA, Carmike Cinemas of Columbus, GA and Reel Entertainment Theatres of Veradale, WA.
We are currently the areas only locally owned and operated First-Run Cinema being owned by the Plaza Cinema Entertainment Co. of Erie, PA. We feature large comfortable auditoriums with state of the art projection systems and DOLBY DIGITAL SR Surround Sound in all theatres. Phonic Ear personal hearing headsets are also available.
